Primary Job Description:
The Healthy Spot Pet Nutrition and Supply Store Manager provides leadership, direction, and operational management to our customer-focused retail store. The Store Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by streamlining workflows, for ensuring smooth operational processes, and for leading our Customer Care Team in a positive, inclusive, and friendly manner. At Healthy Spot every team member is tasked with creating an amazing shopping experience for our customers and the Store Manager demonstrates this commitment for all staff.

About the Role:
The Store Manager (SM) is in charge of the day-to-day operations of our Vernon store, ensuring the smooth operation of all store processes and inventory, maintaining adequate staffing and training, and upholding excellence in service delivery. The SM will oversee special orders, returns, inventory management, and ensure seasonal displays, contests and new products are displayed as directed by the store owners. They will oversee community events and fundraisers and liaise with suppliers to support local charities and rescue events.

The SM will ensure the store is always clean, well maintained, stocked and ready for business. They will participate in all manner of store maintenance from ensuring technology (POS and VOIP) is in working order, mobilizing repair technicians to deal with IT equipment, shelving and paint fixes and heating, cooling and refrigeration issues.

The SM will receive product into the point-of-sale system, oversee price changes and supply as directed by the owners, and troubleshoot any product issues or changes. They will work with warehouse staff to manage stock and transfers and will organize daily deliveries.

The SM is responsible for the recruitment, hiring and training of capable teams; organizing product training and ensuring employee well-being and job satisfaction. The SM will communicate with staff and the owners using mail, email, voicemail and our internal messaging system and with customers and product representatives using phone, email and social media. Working with office administration staff they will ensure proper cash procedures are followed and that payroll is entered. They will support office administration staff with credits and procedural troubleshooting.

Qualifications and Abilities:
路 A minimum of two years team leadership experience required
路 Senior level retail management experience including staff training
路 Merchandising, stock ordering and sales analytics experience an asset
路 Professional demeanor with strong communication skills
路 Highly self-motivated
路 Flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment
路 Demonstrated exceptional customer service and sales abilities
路 A positive and friendly attitude
路 Aptitude for technology (e.g. troubleshooting computer and POS issues)
路 Passion for the health and welfare of animals
